Autumn is just around the corner! And with that comes new fall adventures that you can have with your pup. Make each walk and romp in the leaves extra unforgettable by packing along some unique treats.
Peanut Butter Pumpkin Treats
If you’ve been making pumpkin treats for the humans in your life, then you probably already have the ingredients on hand to make wholesome pumpkin peanut butter treats for your pup!
Combine 2 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour, two eggs, 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Cut into 1/2-inch-thick shapes and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Easy!
Sweet Potato Chews
Sweet potatoes are a fall staple and a dog-safe people food, so baking up some sweet potato chews makes an easy and inexpensive treat!
Simply cut your sweet potato(s) into 1/3-inch-thick slices using a knife or mandolin, and then let your slices dehydrate in the oven at 175 degrees for about eight hours.
Frozen Candy Corn Treats
Need something for an unexpectedly warm fall day? Make some fun frozen dog treats using yogurt, bananas and canned pumpkin!
Start with eight 3-oz paper cups. Place a spoonful of yogurt at the bottom of each cup, and then freeze for one to two hours.
Next, mix 1/2 cup of yogurt with 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin, and spoon this mixture evenly over your frozen yogurt-filled paper cups. Freeze again for one to two hours.
Finally, mix one to two small bananas with 1/2 cup of yogurt, and spoon this mixture evenly into the paper cups. Freeze again for one to two hours.
Then peel the paper cups off each treat to serve to your pup!
